About us
The East Midlands Kung Fu (EMKF) Community Fund is a charitable initiative dedicated to ensuring that financial barriers do not prevent individuals from accessing martial arts training. Our fund provides financial assistance to members of EMKF who are experiencing financial hardship, as well as disadvantaged children within the local area.
OUR MISSION
We believe that martial arts should be accessible to everyone, regardless of financial circumstances. The EMKF Community Fund helps by covering costs such as:
Training fees
Grading fees
Kit and equipment
Membership and insurance
WHO WE HELP
Membership to the EMKF Community Fund is open to all members of EMKF. If you or someone you know is struggling to afford training, our fund may be able to help. Our goal is to promote inclusivity and ensure that everyone has the opportunity to benefit from martial arts training.
HOW IT WORKS
Our fund is managed by a team of dedicated trustees who oversee applications and ensure fair distribution of financial assistance. We operate with complete transparency and confidentiality, ensuring that all applications are handled discreetly.
APPLYING FOR ASSISTANCE
Submit a written application detailing your financial circumstances and the type of assistance required.
Our trustees will review each case individually and make decisions based on fairness and need.

GOVERNANCE AND STRUCTURE
The EMKF Community Fund is managed by a team of three trustees who are elected by the fund members. Trustees serve a three-year term and are responsible for overseeing the fund’s operations, managing finances, and ensuring all activities align with our mission.
The fund relies on donations, grants, and fundraising activities to continue its work. We are always looking for support from individuals and organisations who share our vision of equal access to martial arts training.
